Twin Cities Must-Visit Venues for Spring Concerts | Counselor Realty

The Twin Cities are known for many things, and one of the best of those is live music! Historic local venues are the cornerstone of the thriving live music scene in our area. It can be tough to decide exactly where to start, so we have a few recommendations for you to check out.

No matter whether you choose Minneapolis homes for sale or St. Paul homes for sale, you'll be right at the crossroads of some of the region's best music venues for spring concerts. Spring is traditionally the busiest season for music, comedy, and so much more, so now's the time to plan out your "can't-miss" performances.

Let's check out a few of the many venues for spring concerts in the Twin Cities:

  • First Avenue – 701 N. 1st Ave., Minneapolis, MN 55403
First Avenue is a legendary venue that has played host to national and international superstars throughout its storied history. As one of the largest venues in the Twin Cities, it offers multiple performances almost every day across the spring concert season and through the end of November.

  • Palace Theatre – 17 W. 7th Place, St. Paul, MN 55102
Palace Theatre has more than a century of history behind it, originally opening in 1916 as a vaudeville theater. The building became one of the first full-fledged "movie palaces" in Minnesota in 1920. Although it was shut down in 1984, it has since experienced a $15 million resurgence and is now owned by the City of St. Paul.

  • Fine Line – 318 N. 1st Ave., Minneapolis, MN 55401
Fine Line is an affiliated venue of First Avenue; you can find it just down the street from its "parent." It was first opened in 1987 and has developed a reputation as a place where many of the Twin Cities' most iconic acts got their start. Recent performances and events include It's a 2000s Party and Bella White.

  • The Hook and Ladder Theater & Lounge – 3010 Minnehaha Ave., Minneapolis, MN 55406
The Hook and Ladder Theater & Lounge is led by the nonprofit Firehose Performing Arts Center in a mission to serve the communities of Minneapolis and St. Paul with an eclectic mix of performing arts events. Throughout spring, it also helps to host an award-winning outdoor urban concert series called Under the Canopy.

  • The Armory – 500 S. 6th St., Minneapolis, MN 55415
The Armory has recently undergone a major renovation that led to more seating, more stage space, and even better acoustics for performances. When it was established in the 1930s, it was the most expensive building in Minnesota. Now, it's one of the best spring concert venues in the Twin Cities.

  • Dakota – 1010 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis, MN 55403
Dakota is the place to go for a full calendar of live music every night, but that's not all. It's also well known for its delicious, full menu. That includes a dinner menu, a special menu for second shows, and a bar menu. Dine on healthy, nutritious entrees like the black bean burger and sea bass ratatouille while you catch a terrific show!

  • The Cedar Cultural Center – 416 Cedar Ave., Minneapolis, MN 55454
The Cedar Cultural Center is found right in the heart of Cedar Riverside, the epicenter of the Minneapolis music scene. Here in this cultural melting pot, the nonprofit Cedar Cultural Center curates a busy spring season full of music from all around the world. Not only can you enjoy amazing performances, you're sure to learn, too!
