Solve a Mystery When You Visit These Bookstores | Counselor Realty

Mystery is such a popular literary genre that it deserves more than one day of celebration. Channel your inner Jessica Fletcher or Lieutenant Colombo during Mystery Series Week, taking place through Oct. 12, with a visit to these great bookstores near Minneapolis homes for sale and St. Louis homes for sale.

  • Uncle Edgar's Mystery Bookstore - 2716 E. 31st St., Minneapolis, MN 55406
In 2020, Uncle Edgar's Mystery Bookstore was involved in their own whodunit when their building and collections were destroyed in a devastating fire. With the help of crowdfunding and a never-say-die attitude, Uncle Edgar's found a new home about two miles from the original location. The inventory of new and used mystery books includes several that have been signed by the author. Be sure and check out Uncle Edgar's companion shop, Uncle Hugo's Science Fiction Bookstore, housed in the same building. Hours are 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon - 5 p.m. Sunday.

  • Once Upon a Crime - 604 W. 26th St., Minneapolis, MN 55405
Once Upon a Crime stocks nothing but mystery fiction titles, allowing them to carry the best selection in town. Their calendar features several book signings, meet-and-greets, and launch parties where you can mingle with other readers who share your passion for mysteries. One of the events is a book club that meets at 6:30 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month.
