How did the owners of Turtle Bread Company come up with the whimsical name? Because according to their slogan, "great bread takes time." Equal parts of quality ingredients and skilled craftsmanship go into their breads, pastries, and desserts. Cheesecakes come in your choice of vanilla bean, lemon, cherry, and marble. If you need a full meal, Turtle Bread has a full-service cafe as well as a wood-fired pizza oven. Hours are 7 a.m. - 8 p.m. daily.
Butter Bakery Cafe - 3700 Nicollet Ave., Minneapolis, MN 55409
In addition to producing and serving excellent food, family-owned Butter Bakery Cafe wants to make a difference in the community. By operating as a Social Benefit Corporation, Butter Bakery focuses on sustainable practices, improved workers' rights, and making positive contributions to the food service industry. Pick up a slice of cheesecake from the dessert case or place an order for a full cheesecake to enjoy at home. The onsite cafe serves breakfast all day, along with soups, salads, and sandwiches. Butter Bakery Cafe is open weekdays from 7 a.m. - 6 p.m. weekdays and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Located in Cossetta Alimentari, the delightful marketplace in St. Paul's Little Italy, Pasticceria brings a touch of European elegance to the Twin Cities. Their elegant marble pastry bar was shipped piece-by-piece from Tuscany and painstakingly reassembled, while the head pastry chef studied under experts in France and Italy. Italian and New York cheesecakes share the display case with tiramisu, biscotti, and a wide range of sweet treats. Top your cheesecake with a scoop of refreshing gelato or sorbetto. Pasticceria is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Muddy Paws Cheesecake - 3359 Gorham Ave., St. Louis Park, MN 55426
After moving from Chicago to St. Louis Park, Tami Cabrera missed only one thing: cheesecake. Unable to find the same kind she grew up with, Tami took matters into her own hands and opened Muddy Paws Cheesecake. The mind-boggling list of 222+ flavors includes Cotton Candy, Peanut Butter Salted Caramel, and Raspberry Beret. Muddy Paws is the only bakery in the world to be certified in gluten-free and vegan cheesecake production. All flavors are available as special orders, but more than 25 flavors are featured in the shop each day by the slice or whole cake. Hours are 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Saturday.
Dave the Pie Guy - 3544 Grand Ave. S., Minneapolis, MN 55408
Dave the Pie Guy features a different dessert in the name, but more than one customer has declared their cheesecake to be the best ever. The flavor is described as light with a hint of citrus, while chocolate and caramel toppings are available for some decadent richness. Dave Hulett himself has become something of a local celebrity, with his infectious personality as much of a draw as the desserts. Hours are noon - 6 p.m. every day but Sunday.
