Indoor Basketball Courts - Twin Cities, MN - Counselor Realty

Winter is finally coming to an end, which can only mean one thing: it's time for March Madness. The NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament is the highlight of the sports world every March. While many of us will be watching the games, the tournament may also make you want to shoot some hoops. We're happy to report there are many indoor basketball courts around the Twin Cities where you can practice your shots, play a pick-up game, or even join a league. Here are some of our top recommendations.

  • Stewart Recreation Center - 55404, 2700 12th Ave. S, Minneapolis, MN 55407
Get your game on at the Stewart Recreation Centera nice gymnasium open Monday through Friday from 3 to 9 pm. The gym also hosts youth sports Saturdays from 9 am to 5 pm. The facility is very well maintained, and it also has event space and meeting rooms, and you can even reserve the gym for your own game.

  • Target Center - 600 N. 1st Ave., Minneapolis, MN 55403
The premier athletic club of Minneapolis, Target Center is the place to go to shoot some hoops in a luxurious environment. This 170,000-square-foot club, featuring official-sized hardwood courts, hosts pick-up games, leagues, lessons, and coaching. Whether you're serious about basketball or just looking to have some fun, you'll fit in here. This location is also conveniently located downtown near some of our favorite Minneapolis homes for sale.

  • Linwood Community Recreation Center - 860 St. Clair Ave., St. Paul, MN 55105
Enjoy open gym sessions and adult basketball leagues at Linwood Community Recreation Center. This facility has an excellent indoor gymnasium with basketball hoops, volleyball, soccer, and more. It even has a special area for seniors and kids. Best of all, this community asset is just around the corner from some great Saint Paul homes for sale.

  • YWCA Minneapolis Sports Center - 2121 E. Lake St., Minneapolis, MN 55407
The largest indoor sports center in the Twin Cities, the YWCA Minneapolis Sports Center has several half and full basketball courts, so there is plenty of space. A monthly membership pass is only $29 and gets you access to a variety of amenities. The gymnasiums are also available to rent.

  • Edgcumbe Recreation Center - 320 Griggs St. S, St. Paul, MN 55105
A good place to shoot hoops, especially with the kids, is Edgcumbe Recreation Center in Saint Paul. The rec center hosts open gym hours throughout the week, so make sure to check out the schedule. They also offer Tot Time, which gives kids under 5 the chance to play with mats, scooters, and slides with adult supervision.

  • Whittier Recreation Center - 425 W. 26th St., Minneapolis, MN 55405
The Whittier Recreation Center is another community rec center with a great gymnasium. Public open hours are Monday through Friday from 3 to 9 pm and Saturdays, depending on the youth sports league schedule. Join a community league or meet some friends for a game. The gym can get busy, so plan ahead!

We can't wait to see who wins this year's March Madness tournament. In the meantime, call today for more information about living in the Twin Cities.
