Visit These Art Events in the Twin Cities
Festival season has arrived in the Twin Cities, with some great events coming up for anyone who loves art. Kick things off with the unique, experimental Northern Spark art festival near St. Paul homes for sale this June, then circle the last two days of July on your calendar for the Loring Park Art Festival around the corner from Minneapolis homes for sale. Here's a look at what to expect from two of the best upcoming art festivals in the Twin Cities.
Northern Spark – University Avenue & Downtown St. Paul – June 11, 9 PM to 5:30 AM
- An All-Night Art Festival in St. Paul
The times that you read above are not a misprint. One of the unique things about Northern Spark is that it takes place starting around dusk and lasts straight through the wee hours of the morning. The first part of the festival takes place along University Ave. from 9 PM to 2 AM. After that, Northern Spark moves to Raspberry Island in downtown St. Paul, with a closing event that lasts from 2 AM through 5:30 AM. - Share the Sunrise After a Night of Amazing Art
What could be better than watching the sunrise over St. Paul after a night of unforgettable art? Over the last few years, the Northern Spark festival hasn't been able to include the ultra-late night/early morning closing event after the main event. For the first time since 2017, the festival will once again last until sunrise. - Prepare to Be Surprised by Northern Spark
The theme for Northern Spark 2022 hasn't been revealed just yet, but if past events are any indication, you can expect to be inspired by the art you experience. Surprise and experimentation are two pillars of what Northern Spark is all about. Last year's theme, Alchemy, showcased the many ways art creates meaning from both the materials and experiences found in the world.
Loring Park Art Festival – 1382 Willow St., Minneapolis, MN 55403 – July 30-31

The serene, natural setting of Loring Park provides the perfect backdrop to explore the work of 140 talented visual artists during the Loring Park Art Festival. Discover visual art in a wide variety of themes and styles while getting a chance to meet many of the artists in person. And this isn't just an art exhibition. The art is the main attraction, but there's plenty more to experience for all ages throughout the festival. There will also be street musicians offering spontaneous performances around the park, as well as fun children's activities where children can create their own art. - A Culinary Adventure for Your Taste Buds
